FESTIVAL OF TREES

 

Family Day Saturday, December 6.

 

For children of all ages, Family Day has fun and entertainment for everyone - including a visit with Santa. Keep an eye out for Santa's reindeer on the lawn and come inside to warm up with hot chocolate, cookies, and hands-on crafts. Bring your own camera to capture the excitement. All it takes to make eyes sparkle, laughter bubble and imaginations soar!

 

Admission to Family Day is free of charge. No reservations required. Donations gratefully accepted at the door.

 

Schedule of Events

10:00am to 1:00pm - Visit with Santa!

10:00am to Noon - See Santa's reindeer outside the conservatory and pose for pictures with a real live reindeer.

2:00pm to 4:30pm - The Story Fairy

7:00pm - Story time with Shilling Bear... Join us in your PJs at 7:00 pm as local storyteller Cindy Robin shares her gift of special magic with children of all ages. Shilling Bear is an inspirational story that teaches the true meaning of giving.

 

Admission is free and children may participate in crafts and other activities throughout the day.

Little Years School

 

The Little Years School is still accepting applications for the 2008-2009 school year (in the 3 year old a.m. and p.m. programs and in the 4 year old p.m. program). We are located at 20 Donnelly Street, close to Pembina, McGillivray, and Waverley. We are an early education program for children ages 3 and 4. Subsidies are available. If you would like more information about ADHD in childhood, you may be interested in attending this upcoming event. The ADHD Service will be hosting a PARENT INFORMATION SESSION as follows:

 

Session: Thursday December 4, 2008 @ 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Location: MATC @ 120 Tecumseh Street, Gymnasium

 

Dr. Janice Blampy and Denise Gunter (RPN) will speak about the diagnosis of ADHD, treatment options including medications, and the impact of a child with ADHD on the family. Dr. Michelle Warren and Lori Cherwinski (OT) will present on psychosocial treatments and common sensory issues of children with ADHD.

 

This session is free of charge and intended for parents/guardians who would like more information about ADHD. The session is being held at MATC’s 120 Tecumseh Street location in the gymnasium. Parking is available in the front loop of 120 Tecumseh, adjacent street parking (free after 6:00 p.m.) or the Health Sciences Centre parkade across the street.

 

As seating is limited, please R.S.V.P to 958-9636 if you are planning to attend. Also, you can check our recorded message at 958-8440 after 12:00 p.m. on the day of the session, to ensure it has not been cancelled or postponed in the event of inclement weather.
