Counsellor’s Corner

It is very important that we all try to get enough sleep, both as children and adults, to function at our best throughout the day.

Our Grade 8 students are excited to visit their prospective grade 9 divisional schools for an orientation this month. The visit to Oak Park High School is scheduled for Wednesday, January 13th in the morning and the visit to Shaftesbury High School will be on Thursday, January 28th in the afternoon. Permission forms will go home with students just prior to these dates. Keep watch for each school’s Open House dates and times!

The Babysitting Course will again be offered at school in the Spring. I am currently in the process of confirming dates with the South Winnipeg Family Information Centre staff who facilitate the course. We are hoping to offer two sessions; one in March and one in June. Information will go home with students who are interested in the program. Be sure to return the permission slip and fee shortly after it is received as space fills up quickly.
